1946
Soon after World War II De Saedeleir concentrates on collecting textile waste and regenerated fibres. Textile manufacturers are confronted with a great shortage of raw material in this period, and De Saedeleir helps
them to overcome production difficulties.
1960
A third generation of De Saedeleir Textiles: needle felt finds its ways as industrial felt. The company begins a rapid expansion and starts a steep climb to success.
1974
The company is growing fast, and soon the three locations in Lebbeke are too small and impractical. De Saedeleir Textiles therefore moves to a 200.000 m² industrial site in Dendermonde.
1983
Another European scoope! De Saedeleir launches into the production of polypropylene fibres. From now on the company provides in its own raw material.
1987
Another successful year. The company introduces dope dyed polyester fibres. This technique, also known as solution dying, had already been applied successfully to polypropylene fibres and now improves the quality of the polyester fibres considerably.
1989
A third major invention which De Saedeleir Textiles brings to Europe: hollow fibres which conquer the market. As always, the Flemish company immediately recognises the importance of this new development.
1991
De Saedeleir Textiles has become a conglomerate of differtent companies, one of them manufacturing modern design furniture. In 1991 De Saedeleir Furniture wins the renowned Brussels International Furniture Show.
1995
The expansion of De Saedeleir Textile Platform, as it is called today, takes another turn, as competitor Alfa Floor is taken over by the group. De Saedeleir Textile Platform is developing into a major industrial employer in Flanders with international ambitions.
1996
De Saedeleir Textile Platform enthusiastically aims for global growth of the company. This tremendous ambition is embodied by the new and dynamic management, represented by four members of the younger generation: Patrick, Pascal, Dirk and Kris De Saedeleir.
1999
DS Textile Platform starts the production of Bulked Continuous Filaments, BCF. A new hightech compter-aided facility was created for this purpose. In this same year we received the ISO 9001 award.
2004
Agreement between Tarkett AG and Group De Saedeleir emphasises the intention of both companies to further develop the Baisieux location and Sommer textile brand with both groups focussing on their strategic markets.
