The fire certificate for carpets and rugs is not a matter of verifying the resistance to cigarette burns, but of calculating the inflammability and the propagation speed of flames in case of fire on a material firmly attached to the floor.

The requirements
A fire certificate is required for public premises (public stores, collective offices, hotels, restaurants, ...) and for habitation premises in high buildings. Private apartments and residential houses are not submitted to this obligation .
